True Bloods Anna Paquin Interview With ‘Dazed Digital’

Taken from Dazed Digital

Your character, Sookie Stackhouse, is telepathic. Some people say that telepathy is how super-evolved human beings will communicate with each other one day. Is Sookie super-evolved, being so hyper-sensitive that she can read minds?

I kind of like the way that Sookie actually thinks of it as being a disability, rather than some super-evolved trait. Because often what makes people more special sometimes, on a practical day-to-day level, makes life a little awkward. Most people just want to fit in and she can’t, because she’s got this internal monologue of what every single person is thinking
all the time.

Yeah, I guess it would kind of be a bummer. And that is the interesting thing about it; that her superpower is a bummer to her.

Personally, I’m pretty happy not being telepathic. If you don’t want me to know something, that’s all good.

True Bloods Kristin Bauer Talks About Love For Her Dogs

Photography by Grace Chon/ShinePetPhotos.com

Tell us about your dogs. Names, breeds, ages and everything about them.

Well, we have Asher, my boy, he’s around 5 years old and is a Rottweiler mix, he’s black and tan but mixed with something else because he’s quite small.

We also have Oz, short for Osmond. We got him at 2 years old from the pound. He’s a Labrador with the coolest looking eyes.

He was once the third dog in the gang. Right now I have the smallest crowd I’ve probably ever had, we’ve just had two older animals pass away which is always tough.

When did your interest in pets begin and how long have you been a pet owner?

Through the years we’ve had a Beagle, a Pointer, a list of Labradors and we’ve always had cats. When I was at college although in my freshman year I had a cat which I took into the dorm, although it wasn’t allowed.

The first dog that I got, my girlfriend was a receptionist at a veterinary surgery and I’d stopped by for lunch one day and there was this dog in a cage there. She was about a year old and as soon as I saw her her eyes haunted me, I just fell in love.

She’d been left by her owner that day and the vet wasn’t hopeful they’d come back. I asked the vet if she could come into my home, I’d take care of her and he told me if the owner came back, I’d have to give her back. I knew I wouldn’t be able to, but her owners didn’t come back for her until years later.

I also had a Rottweiler puppy, I was in LA and it was for sale. This mean looking guy pulled up and was on the pavement. I just ran up, paid and bought the puppy. I couldn’t bear to think he’d go to the wrong home – that said, I’m now much more aware and wouldn’t buy again from that sort of situation having seen so many puppy mills.

I’d always encourage people to visit their local shelter and rescue, there’s so many animals there looking for new homes.

Our readers will know you for your most recent role in True Blood, what do you love most about your character, Pam? You’ve just filmed the season finale in the US – how would you best describe the finale?

My character pretty deep, I find her fascinating. She’s very much one of the hounds, she’s very cool and I love her sarcastic nature. I just love that fashionista diva!

In the finale, my characters loyalty to Eric is tested and you get to find out a little more about what makes her tick, everyone’s characters are explored deeper and I really think fans will enjoy it.

True Bloods Sam Trammell Talks Season 4 (Spoilers)

On True Blood

“Stop the presses! ‘Cause we just caught up with Sam Trammell and he told us everything about what’s going to happen in the new season.”

“We’ve been [shooting] for about two weeks. We’ve gotten two scripts and it’s really cool. I’m really psyched about it. My character gets to do some very cool things. And it’s different—some things have happened that have changed things, so I think the viewers will be excited. Alan [Ball] likes to keep everybody on their toes. It’s always fun just getting the scripts and reading them, it’s like…I was going to say crack cocaine but I’ve never had it!”

“Sookie’s  mansion has been a shambles ever since Maryann used it as the center of her freaky Dionysian cult (remember the meat sculpture?), but insiders tell me they’re finally repainting the house and repairing all the damage from the keggers held at Maryanne’s behest.”

The True Blood Cast Talk Season 4

Howl! Season 4 of “True Blood” is in the works and it’s going to be a big one according to some of the stars of the pulpy HBO drama.

“It’s gonna be a crazy Season 4,” Rutina Wesley told Access Hollywood at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle Golden Globes party to announce Miss Golden Globe on Thursday evening in Los Angeles.

Director Alan Ball left viewers with a host of cliffhangers a few months ago, including a big one with Rutina, whose character – Tara – left Bon Temps in a convertible, seemingly never to return.

“There’s gonna be some changes with Tara,” Rutina told Access of what lies ahead for her character, who in Seasons 2 and 3, took quite a beating. “Hopefully some power and some strength.

“And not be tied up all the time,” she added, literally referring to the host of scenes in Season 3 that saw Tara in restraints.

However, it remains unclear if Tara’s adventures will see her returning to her original home of Bon Temps.

“That’s the big question,” Rutina said of whether Tara returns. “I can’t tell you that. I love my job too much.”

Another cliffhanger from Season 3’s finale involved Merlotte’s bar owner Sam, who fired a gun at the end of the last episode, possibly at his brother, Tommy Mickens, who was exiting Bon Temps with Sam’s sack of dough. But did he shoot his kin?

“I can’t answer that,” Sam’s portrayer, Sam Trammell told Access Hollywood with a grin at the InStyle event. “You don’t want to know… because something would be ruined for you, but you will find out. You will find out pretty quickly whether I did or did not.”

Sam confirmed, however, that fans will find out the answer to the shooting question in the first episode back.
